The professional organization
that I chose is AAFCS or American Association of Family and Consumer
Services. The mission of AAFCS is to provide leadership and support
for professionals who work with individuals, families, and communities in
making informed decisions about their well being, relationships, and
resources to achieve optimal quality of life (AAFCS, 2014). AAFCS
provides resources to professionals in the field of human services along
with further education through seminars, webinars and interaction with
other members. I feel that that this organization gives me a network
of other professionals that allows me to further my ability to grow and
further my education so that I become a more well rounded professional that
is able to serve my clients to my fullest potential.

In my
research, I found the origination of BPW/Ohio( BPW/Ohio, 2013). This is the
Business professional woman of Ohio. In being a part of this group will it
not only give me the opportunity to network with other business
professional woman, it will also keep me updated on what is going on in the
business world. It also goes to the political areas and what is going on
there. In this group a woman can learn how to be involved in her community
and where her community is from a business standpoint. If woman can get
together and get more involved with the local business and politics they
can archive everything they want.
