Follow
the format below for organizing the different sections of your
Part I: Topic &Research
Question(s)
Part 1 should
answer the questions: (1) what is your research
'problem" or topic? (2) What
question(s) will your research paper
address? This section should be
one paragraph in length.
Part 2:
Importance of Research
Part 2should
address why you believe the research you are
proposing is important. This
section should be approximately one
paragraph in length.
Part 3: Literature
Review
Part 3should
include a brief literature review of the (secondary)
sources you will use to convince
the reader of your knowledge of
the topic, the appropriateness of
your sources, and to support the
statements you made as to the
need for and importance of your
research. You may choose to
include some powerful quotes. This
section of the proposal should be
I page in length.
Part 4: Methodology
Part 4 should include a
description of your methodology. Your
methodology should include not
only the primary sources you will
be using to gain information and
collect data, but it
should
also
include a brief discussion of how
you plan to analyze your sources
and data, this section should be
about 1
paragraph
in length.
If you are planning on using
experiments or observations, provide a
clear explanation of the process
and procedures you plan to follow.
If you are planning on using
surveys or interviews, provide a list of
the interview or survey questions
within the methodology section.
Part 5: Expected
Findings
Part 5should
include a brief description of your anticipated research
findings. What do you expect to
find after the completion of your
research?
General
Guidelines:
Your research proposal should not
be more than 2
pagesin
length overall. Your proposal
should be typedand double spaced.
Use TimesNew Roman font, size 12
with 1"
margins.
Cite your secondary sources and
quotes (by providing authorname and date of publication), but do not include a
referencelist or bibliography with your proposal.
