Develop an original argument based on significant research related to the selected special text and film

ü Minimum number of pages: 4-6

ü Minimum number of sources: 4-5 [min. 2 from the Ivy Tech Library]

ü Special required text as assigned by campus as additional source

ü Show related film in 8th week – additional to the minimum number of sources



Objectives/Goals/Criteria for Paper 3:
• Develop an original argument based on significant research related to the selected special text and film

• Engage and integrate multiple sources to support/advance an original argument

• Include an introduction with a clear thesis statement (point), well-developed body paragraphs that are directly connected to the thesis statement, and a conclusion that brings the paper back to the main point and provides closure to the paper.

• Use academic language/standard English

• Include a minimum of one quotation per source that supports/advances the argument of the paper in addition to summarizing or paraphrasing information from the source

• Cite the source/sources using in-text citations and an MLA Works Cited page or an APA References page

• Demonstrate critical thinking—makes a sharp/specific point that goes beyond the obvious

• Use transitions and repeated connections to the thesis to create a logical progression of coherent paragraphs that forward the argument of the paper
