Thesis statement guidelines:
It is an arguable statement.
It is a complete sentence that expresses your position/opinion on a given topic.
It narrows down your topic to a specific, single focus of investigation.
It establishes a direction for the entire paper.
It is stated in your introduction.
A thesis is never a question; it could be the answer to a question.
A thesis is not an announcement of purpose.
A thesis is not simply a topic.
A thesis is not a fact.

theses stetment:
1- Straight edge is a kind of ascetic group. This group came from hard rock and punk group who didn’t want to drug, tobacco, drink, and sex without loving relationship. Their life is similar with monk but they live with other people who do drug, tobacco, drink, and one-night sex. In these days, they follow a vegetarian or vegan diet, and not using caffeine. This group is conservative than other subculture group, because they have tough rule which are hard to following other people who are not in straight edge. However, they practice more individual than before, also they try to different lifestyle in nowadays.
2- Trekkers can be defined as group of people who shows favoritism on SF, not only Star Trek. And Trekkers are usually known as not sociable and looks like Trekkies, they always spend time to think something scientific. Additionally, people think Trekkers had been associated by the short period; However, Trekkers has long history, and they are active to meet friends and they are same with us, People who are not trekkers can’t even notice they are Trekkers or not.
3- Hackers’ culture is born at 1950-1960 as computer started to become popular. From the origin, hackers have tried to challenge authority and showed who they are. So, hackers group can be seen as negative. However, nowadays, there are many hackers who use their skill for public. For example, hackers can help make secure program and they even counsel for companies. Thus, positive perspective of hackers is needed to be applied.
4- since the Ancient Greece era, Atheist were rejected by the larger society. In fact, Atheism was a pejorative term to design those who refuse to believe in the existence of God(s). However, today this minority group has grown over the world and decided to express their thoughts openly. rather than that, the new atheism in the 21 century have decided to fight against religions by criticizing it and encounter it with rational arguments.
5-around us or in our community or all over the world, we have a bunch of major and minor cultures. in fect, some of these culture can be accepted for us but some of them do not even the cultures are major culture for a country because we have experienced different cultures or been used to each original cultures. however, i think some of these cultures are interesting than i did not know them before. we might hear or see several major cultures for many countries from books, internet, TV, or radio. so through the ENGL 130E class, I am going to research and go over about the red hat association which has rule to wear a red hat. especially, what is the purpose of this group or how has this group done for their members? actually this group works for upgrading life quility of their members who are only women and tries to make a business for managing this group and paying for lots of programs for their members.
