Rationale
and background to assessment:
All health
service providers are accountable under the law to ensure that their activities
conform to legal requirements. Similarly their employees are accountable to
their employer to follow their
contracted
duty. As registered practitioners, nurses’ are also accountable to their
governing body the Nursing and
Midwifery
Council (NMC), and required to work within the terms of standards of practice
and patient care (RCN 2006).
