LIM College defines leadership as 'inspiring
others to strive and enabling them to accomplish great things'. We believe
great things and great leadership can be accomplished in pursuit of business
and societal goals. Describe a time when you exercised such leadership. Discuss
the challenges you faced and the results you achieved. What characteristics
helped you to be effective, and what areas do you feel you need to develop in
order to be a better leader?
I exercised such leadership with my nephew and niece by
showing them life is not easy for no one. I always try to tell them dont put no
man first always put God first before anybody without him that is no
impossible. I took my niece to my alumni college to show her that she can go to
college if she strived on her dreams .
The reason why i said that so many young lady and young man dont get the chance
to follow their dreams. They always
ending up going in the wrong direction in life.
I tell them be careful who you surrounded your self with in life, because
not everybody isnt right. If you want something in life you have to go out in
get it. I also show leadership to my newphew encourage him dont give up on his
dream, even though he is still so young at the age. I try to buy him instrument
and education materials, I always asked him what he wants to do in life .
Leadership can be good or bad it show
people who you really in life. It takes a real leadership to be a good role
model essential, determination and courage .
The challenges I faced is to be the best person that I can be
in life. I believe always do not give up even though that door closed., however
something else is better than that door closed. I strived to be where Im at
today it was not easy for me at all. People used to mock and make funny of me
because I have diffcult on how to pronoucation my words.. At one point it did
get to me because i get so tired of people always mocking me due to my problem
with my speech. But I didnt let it stop me at all because we all have a problem
within ourself I think if i let them get the best of me I probably would not
getting my diploma from high school, getting my Associate degree from a
Community College, getting my bachelor degree from a University and pledge a
sorority . I wouldnt forget my six grade teacher told everybody in the
classroom, I am going to be somebody one day. Everybody was laughing at what
she said about me. I didnt laughed at her or nobody else, it make me realized i
can be somebody one day if i put one God in front of my life instead of behind
me. So from that day on I keep that in my mind and heart I can be somebody.
My characteristic in life is has long you put God first you
can do whatever you want to do in life. I believe you always need to prepare
yourself no matter what the situation it might be. Is to show more love than
having tough love i guess i was raised up like that. I feel nobody wont give
you nothing or hold your hand in life. I tried my best to be a good role model
to my niece and nephew but i would like to help other children too. I need to listen first before i jump into
conclusion.
