Are alcohol based hand sanitizers more effective than soap and water for reducing transmission of infections

You may locate and browse reputable websites (e.g. eMedicine, Mayo Clinic, Medicine Online, WebMD, etc.). Scientific articles and books can be located through our library databases (Ask a reference librarian for help with this). All these are great sources for information on the controversial issue.
Additional information may come from news articles (e.g. NY Times) and other media cites.

Make a note and then do some research to provide yourself with background information to create and support your response. A good source to start with is your textbook, as it contains medical and disease related websites (e.g. NIH, CDC, OSHA, NCI, Medline Plus, etc.) at the end of the respective chapters.

Below are websites that I have found helpful information.
